The freezing conditions did not stop the members turning out to training at Chelmsford recently, for the club to receive its Clubmark certificate.
Phil Sergeant with the support of other club members has worked on the certification, coordinating and implementing the requirements for the award. The presentation of the certificate also coincided with the club's first Athlete and Parent Induction, which was developed and implemented by Geoff Reed. Geoff - like most parents who take their children to a local club - decided to help out with coaching which eventually led to him taking his Assistant Coach Award. Geoff wanted to share his experiences as a parent and volunteer at the club, with new members.
Phil Sergeant said, “I am very proud that the club has, at long last, deserved the award of Clubmark. Once again we would like to thank Maddy Smith and James Cudmore for their able assistance, and we will continue the good work that the accreditation endorses”.
